"Who Is ITCHEFROBIN"


I am currently the Restaurant Technology Manager @slice


I am a  retired Executive Chef (Classical French Trained)  and have been doing POS Software/Hardware Implementations, Technical Support, Customer Success, Project Management & Network Engineer Specialist, specializing in the Hospitality sector for the last 19 years.

   

I am an Experienced IT/ Implementation professional specializing in restaurant and retail POS systems and networks, Extensive experience in the Hospitality Industry, including as Executive Chef

In August of 2000, I took a leap of faith and left behind  a long-term career as an Executive Chef to return to school to study Information Technology and graduated with a degree in Network Administration. I reinvented myself, bringing all of this into my career in IT. I began in entry level roles and have worked myself up to positions of increasing responsibility and oversight over the last 17 years.

Seasoned leader with extensive management, technology and hospitality background. Leadership experience includes roles as diverse as Director of IT and Executive Chef. Key Accomplishments:


Extensive leadership, strategic planning and budgeting experience. As   Director of IT for Cafe Gratitude restaurants, I created a 5-year plan and   budget for the IT department to support our high growth vision for the   future. Serving many years in an Executive Chef capacity, I managed teams of   up to 65 people, and was responsible for creating and managing food and labor cost budgets based on sales forecasts

Executed and implemented a national roll-out of Spendgo into every single Jamba Juice around the country, personally installing 429 stores. Installed   4000+ units of Spendgo at various companies all over the country

Executed and implemented a 72-store roll-out for The   Holland Inc. Burger Ville in Oregon & Washington over a 5-month span for   Posi Touch. For this I was awarded Employee of the month.

16 years’ experience as a project/implementation manager in   restaurant/IT operations. Knowledge of 15 different point-of-sale systems, a   cabling & Implementation Specialist.


Toast Accomplishments:


· My team and I received recognition for being the top performing team in the Company for the 3rd & 4th QRT 2018 

· I also went through an extensive Management Development Program. 

· My biggest accomplishment of all, I left the company with the highest eNPS scores in office vibe with a 72, I had the happiest team in the company. I am committed to growth and development of my leadership, managerial and relational skills as well as to the growth, development and happiness of my team as evidenced by the recent exponential jumps across the board in my Office Vibes scores, currently the highest in the company

· I am committed to absolute customer satisfaction and instill this in my team members, as evidenced by 2 of them recently receiving the Q3 “Delighters” awards.

· In an effort towards staff development and continuous process improvement, I proposed a pilot program to have one of my team FIE perform centralized activities in support of FIE’s, such as training, operations and back-end configurations. This was very successful and led to the creation of a whole remote implementation team in our Omaha office.

· I have mentored and built very proactive and collaborative relationships with the PM, PC Team & Sales


How It all started:


I was 14 years old when I got my first job as a   dishwasher in a 4-star Restaurant and worked my way up into the ‘Garde   Manger’ department and then to the sauté station. Showing signs of a   promising career as a chef, I was offered an onsite apprenticeship program   with the corporate executive chef at the well renowned Sardine Factory in   Monterey, California. I studied for 7 years in all phases of kitchen   operations. Following this, I was accepted at a private French culinary   school where I graduated at the top of my class. 


When   I graduated from culinary school, I had not only fine-tuned my culinary   skills and restaurant operations knowledge but had gained extensive   experience in front of the house operations as well, including impeccable   customer service skills. 


I then went on to work in 5-star hotels and   restaurants in Camel, Malibu and Los Angeles. I have prepared amazing meals   for such celebrities as Madonna, Charles Bronson, Oprah Winfrey, Johnny   Carson, Carroll O’ Connor, Mick Fleetwood and Tom Cruise, to name a few. 


I have   been written up in a prestigious magazine for one of my culinary creations   that the celebrities loved! I have also cooked for Government officials such   as Leon Panetta, former chief of staff for President Bill Clinton, and   Madeline Albright, Secretary of state for the Clinton administration. 


In   1997, I took the American Culinary Federation test and was certified as an   Executive Chef. 

After spending many years, and many holidays, working in   Hotels and Restaurants I was approached by a management company in Silicon   Valley to run a very elaborate corporate cafe’. So off to corporate America I   went to work an unfamiliar 5-day work week with weekends and holidays off! It   was here that I learned to use a computer for the very first time. In   corporate food service I had to do everything on the computer, from the   financials to creating menus that changed daily. 


I became  fascinated with the   computer and purchased one for myself for the very first time. I was   determined to master this new technological way of doing business and   diligently worked to teach myself everything I needed to know. It was in this   job that I became addicted to technology. It was so fascinating to me that I   wanted to learn more and as much as I could, so I decided to take a leap of   faith and leave my career as an Executive Chef to pursue an education in   Computer Science in 2000.


 I went back   to college to study Network Administration and received an Associate of   Applied Sciences degree with a GPA of 3.90. And, I have been working in the   IT field ever since I graduated. I am very well rounded and always   bring to my jobs and clients a profound strength in anticipating customer   needs and exceeding their expectations. My overall knowledge of business and   drive for excellence are my greatest assets, which clients have commented on   time and again.

I   wanted to send you a note to let you know that your employee Robin has gone   above and beyond to try and get Spendgo up and running in our restaurant.

While   trying to get the installation done, we lost our Internet connection. It was   apparent that our system was all screwed up and yet somehow it was   functioning. Robyn worked along with AT&T and the POS Company in Florida   to get things up and running again. It took several hours and a lot of   frustration to get this accomplished. Robyn could have easily said "not   my problem" and left us hanging.

Robin is a very hardworking and passionate individual.   She's always up for new challenges and as an Account Manager at XProtean she   drove some of our critical deployment planning and execution at end user   retail locations.
